Malwarebytes (full version can be found at thepiratebay)
SUPERAntiSpyware (full version can be found at thepiratebay)

Those two softwares aren't antiviruses but they will do best job than any other antivirus software. They are intended for removing harmful programms/codes basically anything that can harm your pc.

But if you seek only for antivirus (altough I strongly recommend you to download either one of the two programms and run full scan) I can recommend Norton or Avira.

w8, w8, w8, u didnt have antivirus????
1756 virus is too much, the possibility of affecting the System32 is really high so rush up and COPY (not CUT) your important files and find the windows cd and format it

Tnx to floffypus for the sign :D

Did you miss this?

http://utf.ucoz.com/forum/21-135-1

Norton is useless and incompetent, using winrar and 5 minutes i can beat it.

Avast is better than nothing, but frankly useless.

Kaspersky is godlike.

Use malwarebytes anti-malware, TDSS Killer and if all else fails, combofix.

Most people don't run AV's 24/7, myself being one of them. Unless your downloading a whole pack of untrusted files there's never really a need for an AV.

1756 viruses are likely to be a misprint, if you really have that many then a reformat is definitively your best call, no AV is perfect and some will be missed, with that quantity I've no doubt that no AV alive could get them all. (But i imagine TDSS, malwarebytes and combofix might have a jolly good go at it.)

I can't stress enough the need to use TDSS Killer, you cannot delete/fight a virus if you have a rootkit installed, there's no warnings, no messages, nothing, you cannot tell if you have a rootkit, but you will have a virus/trojan installed and completely out of your reach if a rootkit is present.

i rather have a virus on my computer than norton. also if you keep your windows updated, and don't click on pop ups, you will be fine. i don't have any virus scanner running, and my firewall is disabled. i got antimalwarebytes and spybot-sd installled in case i think i got a virus.

Everybody stutters one way or the other so check out this message to you, as a matter of fact let nothing hold you back if the gasman can gas it, so can you, im the gasman. dee dab a dee da dab

Myth. Windows updates rarely do anything worthwhile and usually are just responses to "theoretical" attacks, the odds of an attack being launched which windows has patched is remote to say the least.

Pop-ups can't hijack your computer unless your using: A) a bad browser (IE anyone?) or cool you download something they link you to. Pop-ups which can hijack your browser as a result of a script are both incredibly rare and patched by developers usually within 24 hours.

99.9% of viruses are from something you downloaded, the 0.01% tend to be targeted at specific people so you have no excuse if you get one.

The jury's still out on spybot's effectiveness, but it isn't something I'd avoid.
